You might think of hosteling as something that college students do while traveling through Europe for the summer. From my place, we drove to Butuan City, crossed the Magsaysay bridge in a direction to Ampayon and drove straight to the highway to Surigao del Sur. We passed through the city of Bayugan in going to San Francisco. From San Francisco, we turned left and drove to a small but rough and curvy countryside road, passed through Barobo, Tagbina, Hinatuan and then Bislig. The weather is always pleasant, will increase your appetite both for having fun and eating. I with my daughter and travel insurance wife spent only two nights and three days vacation in this beautiful place and we felt close to nature and adventure at the same time. All the recreational activities we did in these three days refreshed us up and we now feel much more active than before the trip. Our hotel, was one of the hotels located yards from the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, and there I was, standing on the shore, feet in the waters of the sea, it was spectacular! Little did I know that I will get to experience the same with all the other seas I’ve read about. The Dead Sea, The Red Sea, and the Sea of Galilee.

Ask your travel agent at the time of booking to request a room on the second floor with a king size bed and close to the beach. You won’t necessarily get what you requested, but if you do, you’ll enjoy more evening breezes, fewer ants, more privacy being that you’re on a higher floor, and a shorter walk to the beach. Having only one bed means that you won’t be falling between the twin beds (I’ll tell you that tale another time (smile)). With Trip to India packages in hand, you can visit places like Shimla, Goa and many more places. You can involve yourself in a number of activities like scuba diving, skiing, bird watching, snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, water rafting and air ballooning. Pay the extra money for a hotel close to everything you want to do. You don’t want to waste precious time worrying, waiting, transferring, and walking.

Back on the road, our special train horn, which we installed in Coimbatore, was coming in handy. Stupid cows and Ox driven carts took no notice of the standard car horn, but moved swiftly out of our way with a few nuclear blasts from latest piece of equipment. We drove through Bangalore onwards to Madras. Once we arrived there, we checked into the Ashoka Hotel. From there we would go sightseeing 60 kilometers away to to the ruins of Mahabalipuram a Port city built around 600-750 AD. Hadimba Devi temple is very old in Manali. It dates back to the time of Mahabharata in 1533 A.D. This temple is surrounded by at least 2.5 kms of wooden deodar forest which is maintained by travel and tourism of Himachal Pradesh. As time was getting on and we had to get to our campsite before the Storm we headed off to the see the Mermaid of the North There wasn’t a designated car park or anything but it was easily accessible especially with the tide going out. We parked up at the side of the road when we spotted the sign and walked down the beach. I know many people who have climbed up to get pictures with her but I wasn’t up to it.

While I spend most of my time to the north of the Boundary Waters is its sister park, Quetico, both are an incredible experience. And thanks for sharing yours. The beauty, weather, and culture of Manali is totally different and unique from other hill stations. I have traveled to many other hill stations in India with my friends and family, but when I visited Manali for the first time in June 2010, I found that Manali is the best out of them. Before my visit, people used to say that Manali is the Switzerland of India and I have found that this is totally true. GPS or the Global Positioning System, is a revolution and a blessing, at least for the people, who are not very good in navigating, if they are traveling to a place for the first time. As an added bonus, most museums stayed open for tourists, The New York Times reported , like the Topkapi and Dolmabahce palaces. Near-empty ferries shuttled visitors across the Bosporus. Even restaurants in the old city of Sultanahmet, while supposed to close to in-person dining, secretly opened for tourists.
