The whole Region has 1226 km’s of roads. Of which only 280 Km’s are sealed. And these figures were produced in 2009. Back in 1969, that would have been more like 20 Km’s sealed.
Traveling is definitely easier these days and there is no doubt about that. It enriches and broadens our outlook towards other fellow human beings. We stayed on the major freeway. Traveling between the Florence region and Venice and back again gave us the opportunity to view the landscape. It changes so much. The rolling hills of Tuscany become almost mountainous and then drop down to the plains that lead to the Adriatic coast and Venice. These changes all happen in less than three hours of driving if you don’t get lost. Everything was green and beautiful. travel insurance Drinking from bottled water, avoiding ice and washed vegetables is usually recommended, because Canadian stomachs are not familiar with the bacteria found in the local water which could cause stomach problems for sensitive tourists. However, this resort seemed to take great pains with its water, because none in my group nor it seemed none from other groups had tummy troubles!
