If you’re planning a trip around Europe, you most likely want to soak in as much of the culture as possible. Though it’s only 35 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport, this 3,500-acre ranch in the Wasatch Mountains feels worlds away from civilization. Wildlife-viewing hikes, a sustainable farm, and fly-fishing in alpine lakes are all part of the experience here. I cannot afford to travel, so it would be nice to do it again. Travelling is a luxury when you have to focus on paying the bills. However, I live in Southern California, so there are so many wonderful outdoor opportunities, and one friend pointed out how many people pay money to go on trips here, so I am just trying to make the best of things locally. I think the ideas about doing stuff with friends can work with going on local hikes, which is what I have done with my friend. We then have gone to local Indian and Thai places, and this works with our budget.
