Travel agents are indispensable resources for planning complicated trips, finding out the ins and outs of a destination, saving time, preventing travel headaches and getting the best value. Excellent travel tips. Two tips which I feel are very important are (1) dress to blend in with the local culture and (2) blend in with the crowd. The reason for number 1 is to not advertise you are a tourist and make yourself vulnerable for crime and the reason for number 2 is to enjoy the local people by blending in. Unfortunately, I understand the term “the ugly American”. I have even been embarrassed to be with my friends when they are boisterous and rude. No wonder other peoples have a low opinion of the American traveler. I have traveled with family members and also friends and like both. I have fond memories of those various travels. By the way, you have some repetitious sentences or parts of them in your first section that you may wish to edit out.

Eilat, Israel is a beautiful city that our tour guide rightly referred to as the “Las Vegas of Israel” with all the lights and beautiful hotels and highlights, but without all the gambling. After travelling through the dusty Negev desert, the last thing I was expecting was to end up in a city of luscious beautiful landscape that sits right on the edge of the Red Sea. We had been told to ride the entire one hour boat trip around the city and then just like in Rome hop on or hop off where we needed to go. After riding the bus for two days, I’m still not sure if it is best to stand or sit. Inside it can be hot and stuffy. The seats offer a place to sit, but comfort was never part of their design specs. Handholds were never considered in the basic design for standees, however. Standing gets you fresh air, which can be a relief, but you end up stumbling around. The best place to sit is in the stern (about six seats) or the bow (again, about six seats). Whether you are boating through the canals or eating beside the Grand Canal (main street), it’s just plain interesting to watch the traffic.

Africa was well represented this year. No. 9 Singita Kruger National Park, which consists of two contemporary retreats, Sweni Lodge and Lebombo Lodge, is set amid 33,000 acres of South African wilderness. On the other end of the spectrum, No. 57 the Silo, in Cape Town, represents a sophisticated sense of city life, and is directly adjacent to Zeitz MOCAA — the Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. Our daughter adjusted immediately to our holiday life-style travel insurance and seemed to enjoy all of the new surroundings, but the problem we found travelling in Vietnam with our baby was quite unexpected. Everyone tried to touch our baby. Smack, pinch, grab or rub – even when I had her pram covered with a fitted mosquito net to try to avoid this from happening, they would reach under it, or at least try to (Usually after we had walked past, so that we wouldn’t notice). I sometimes pushed peoples arms away from her.
